BELMONT FIRE STATION 701 Fork Shoals Rd., Greenville, SC 29605

The first Belmont Fire department (pictured below) was located at an old, woodcraft, cabinet shop located on Augusta Road. The owner of the building was an original Belmont Firefighter, Jake Ivester. The facility was not equip with living quarters or a meeting space. Consequently, only equipment was housed at the building and meetings were held at the Augusta Acres Community Club. The building still stands today and is owned by a private individual.

In 1969 a new station (pictured below) located at 1 Fork Shoals Road, was constructed and occupied until 2007. This station consisted of a training room, sleeping quarters, a day room and a kitchen. Later, a small training tower and other training props were added. At its peak it housed three engines, a medium duty service truck and a brush truck. The staff consisted of a full time Chief, 3 full time firefighters and many dedicated volunteers. This station also maintained and staffed it’s only sub-station located on 283 Lakewood drive.

In 2007 the Belmont Fire department moved into this state of the art facility. (Pictured Below) The station is located on 5 acres off of Fork Shoals Road. Currently, the fire station is staffed with a full time Fire Chief, Nine Career firefighters, several part-time firefighters and volunteers. The Belmont Fire Department is on the cutting edge of technological advancements, consisting of two engine companies, a 100′ aerial platform, a heavy rescue vehicle, a command vehicle and a Greenville County ERT trailer and new technology is added often to keep our staff safe. THE FUTURE OF BELMONT FIRE DEPARTMENT
In 2014 the L.V. Davis Training Center was dedicated. The future plan for the Training Center is to have a multiple story smoke and burn building, confined space, rescue props, high level and trench rescue props, a compressed gas prop and a staging area for vehicle extraction training.
